This Privacy Policy explains how GY Advertising LLC, a Delaware limited liability company doing business as Software Beasts ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses and protects information in connection with:
- the website softwarebeasts.com (the "Site");
- the Software Beasts accounts on Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms, including our comment-to-DM automations; and
- the Software Beasts Posting and Analytics application, an internal tool that connects to TikTok's developer platform to publish our content and read its performance (the "TikTok App").
Together these are the "Service". By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you email us or message us on a social platform, we receive your name, handle, email address and whatever you include in the message.
Comment-to-DM automations. When you comment a keyword on one of our posts, the platform's automation tools (and any third-party automation service we use, such as Purple Turret) process your public username and the comment text in order to send you the requested direct message. We may see a record of which keyword you requested so we can send the correct link and avoid sending duplicates.
Website usage data. The Site is a static website. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, referring page and pages visited, which are used for security and to keep the Site running. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits. We do not run advertising trackers on the Site.
Affiliate link clicks. When you click an affiliate link, the destination vendor and its affiliate network may set cookies or record the referral so that we can be credited for the sale. That processing is governed by the vendor's own privacy policy. We receive aggregate reports (for example, number of sign-ups and commissions) and, depending on the vendor, sometimes the date and amount of a purchase. We do not receive your payment details.
2. The TikTok App (Software Beasts Posting and Analytics)
The TikTok App is a first-party tool used by us to manage the Software Beasts TikTok account. It is not offered to the general public; it only connects to TikTok accounts that we own or administer and that have explicitly authorised it through TikTok's login flow.
What it accesses. Through TikTok's Login Kit, Content Posting API and Display API, and only with the scopes granted at authorisation, the TikTok App may access:
- basic profile information for the connected account (display name, avatar, TikTok open ID, follower and like counts);
- the ability to upload and publish videos to the connected account, including captions, privacy settings and scheduling;
- the list of videos on the connected account and their public performance metrics (views, likes, comments, shares).
Why. We use this data solely to publish our own content to our own account and to review how that content performs so we can make better videos. Some of this work is automated by a software agent that we operate.
What we do not do. We do not access data belonging to other TikTok users beyond the public metrics of our own videos. We do not sell, rent or share TikTok data with third parties, use it for advertising, or combine it with data from other sources to build profiles of individuals.
Storage and retention. Access tokens and analytics data are stored on infrastructure controlled by us, protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Tokens are retained only while the account connection is active. Analytics data is retained for internal reporting and may be deleted on request.
Revoking access. A connected account can revoke the TikTok App's access at any time from TikTok's settings under Security & permissions → Apps and services, or by contacting us. When access is revoked, stored tokens are invalidated and deleted.
Use of TikTok data through the TikTok App is also subject to TikTok's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
- to send you the link or information you requested by commenting a keyword;
- to respond to your messages and enquiries;
- to operate, secure and improve the Site and our content;
- to publish content and measure its performance on our own social accounts;
- to receive affiliate commissions and reconcile them; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service and who are bound to protect it — for example our web host (Hostinger), our DM-automation and site platform (Purple Turret), the social platforms themselves (Meta and TikTok), and email providers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety or property.
5. Cookies
The Site itself sets no cookies of its own. Embedded content and affiliate destinations may set their own cookies as described in their policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
6. Data retention
We keep messages and enquiries for as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period. Automation records are kept as long as the automation is active. TikTok App data is handled as described in section 2.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email team@softwarebeasts.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. California residents may also request information about our data practices under the CCPA; we do not sell personal information as defined by that law.
You can stop receiving automated direct messages at any time by replying with the unsubscribe keyword in the message or by messaging us directly.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS on the Site, access controls on our systems and encrypted storage of API credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International visitors
We are based in the United States and process information there. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on the Site.
